Make-A-Fort panels are made from an upgraded cardboard that is much stronger and much more durable than normal shipping box cardboard.  To put this to the test, we placed bricks on a Make-A-Fort panel and a on a piece of cardboard cut the same size from a normal shipping box.  The Make-A-Fort panel easily held three heavy bricks.  The normal shipping box cardboard collapsed with about half the weight of a single brick.  The Make-A-Fort panel was over 6x stronger than normal shipping box cardboard.

Note: We do not recommend putting heavy weights on the Make-A-Fort panels like this but did so just to demonstrate this isn’t typical flimsy cardboard.

Make-A-Fort panel with three heavy bricks

Make-A-Fort Panel with 3 Bricks

Flexes but doesn't collapse

Collapses

✔️ Reduces screen time by giving your kids a fun real-world alternative

✔️ Made from a reinforced cardboard that is strong, durable, and eco-friendly

✔️ Easy to assemble, tear down, and store away under a bed or in a closet (no more throwing away the fort made from cardboard boxes)

✔️ Color the panels with paint, markers, or crayons to make them your own

✔️ Create amazing light shows by adding an LED light (not included) inside what you've built

✔️ Setup a target gallery by placing the foam connectors inside holes formed between adjacent panels

✔️ Can even test your pet's IQ by building a maze for your pet

✔️ Give an amazing gift this year for Christmas or birthday or any time (for ages 4-94)

We have lots of fun with these fort building kits. We always run low on the little black pieces that hold the forts together, so you should allow us to buy extra or include more. They take up lots of space when built, but the kids love setting up the forts. We have built outside, but always take them down same day.

We had a lot of fun making our fort. Pretty easy to put together. We followed the tips Make a Fort e-mail me. The grandson went into the fort and he’s not come out. In fact he wants to sleep in it. A little pricey, but worth it. I recommend Make a Fort.

Bought two sets…and we’re still going strong with different configurations, coloring, bracing & learning😂 Love it! I’m having a lot of fun with them (kids range 5-11). Great gift and my only suggestion if you’re planning on buying one or two is buy extra dots.

We gave this to our grandchildren (ages, 4 and 2) and they love it. They helped their dad (our son) set it up and played with/in it the entire time they were visiting us for the holidays. Then when it was time for them to head home, packing up in the box was quick and easy. Love this product and highly recommend.

Santa delivered four boxes worth of Make-a-Fort fun on Christmas. The gift was a surprise, as our 8 and 10-year-old daughters had never seen it before. Santa knew, though, that fort-making is their favorite thing to do. We’ve had forts made out of furniture cushions, pillows, blankets, ottomans, barstools and gymnastics mats since they could walk.

First thing on Christmas morning they hauled all four boxes into the family room and got to work. In less than an hour they had a 3-story structure built. The next day that structure came down and a fantastic labyrinth was constructed. As our 8-year-old said, “Best fort ever!” We also love how they work together to build. It was very easy for them to figure out. They did it all on their own without looking at instructions.

Highly recommend!

FAQ

BASICS

Building forts with boxes is great but this is way better than boxes…it’s panels that kids can connect together to build whatever they imagine. It stores back in a provided case when not in use, can be used over and over, and is much easier to build/tear down

Our Fort Making Kits are quite durable (checkout the See How Strong page), it’s free shipping on a very big toy that can be reused for years to come. It’s worth every penny!

Kits are what you buy and Projects are what you build with the Kits.

The Kits include a variety of components that can easily be connected together to build awesome forts.

Build any one of our example Projects by downloading step-by-step instructions or build your own fort the way you want.

The Explorer Kit is the main fort kit that we offer. The Creator Kit is an expansion pack that you can purchase **in addition** to the Explorer Kit to build bigger and more complex forts.

Yes. Each of our Kits is made from a strong and durable cardboard that is much stronger than normal shipping box cardboard. Can be used over and over and over again with reasonable care. Check out our See How Strong page.

Yes. To build, simply slide the foam connectors snugly into the panel slots to connect panels together. To tear down, simply remove the foam connectors from the panels and place components back in the provided carrying case.

Yes. Each of our Kits has been tested by a certified toy testing laboratory to ensure all components are non-toxic and safe for use in a children’s toy.

A large carrying case is included with each kit that can hold all the components. The carrying case fits under a bed or in a closet when not in use.

A single Explorer Kit can make a 4’ tall fort that requires about 4’ x 6’ of floor space. Browse our Projects to see the floor space required for each project and the number of kits required to build each Project.

Many families use their main family room to build a big fort during the day and then disassemble the big fort back into the provided carrying cases in the evening to reclaim their family room.

Our Explorer Kit includes 20 large panels, 86 black foam circular connectors, 18 yellow triangle braces, a Getting Started Guide, and a carrying case.

Our Creator Kit includes 71 panels in a variety of shapes, 86 black foam circular connectors, 6 yellow triangle braces, a Getting Started Guide, and a carrying Case.

Yes. Each Kit is made from recycled cardboard and can be recycled again at the end of life of the toy.

Yes. Browse our Projects to find project ideas and download the step-by-step instructions to build a specific project.

Simply push the black circular foam connectors snugly into the panel slots to connect panels together.

Connect lots of panels together to form forts, tunnels, mazes, etc.

Younger kids (4-6) will often need help building while older kids (7 and up) can often build themselves.

The Explorer Kit is intended for anyone that enjoys building forts. These forts are easy to build, are big enough to play inside, and have a stronger structure when complete.

The Creator Kit (Expansion Pack) is intended for advanced builders that want a challenge. These forts often require following a long sequence of instructions, can be too small to play inside, and can be "wigglier" when complete.

For a single younger kid, a single Explorer Kit may be enough.

For multiple kids or for an older kid, two to three Explorer Kits are recommended.

For very advanced builders, adding one or more Creator Kit to your Explorer Kit purchase is recommended.

Browse our Projects to see how many Kits are required to build a variety of different projects.
